How do I add my mom or dad to the app?

Install takeft on their phone, sign up for them with their own email, and then add yourself as a contact. We recommend doing this in person the first time.

Do they need to know a password?

No. Once you sign them in during setup, the app remembers their account and opens straight to the call screen every time.

Does it work over Wi-Fi and mobile data?

Both. takeft uses an internet voice connection — there's no phone number or SIM dialing involved.

Why does the call not ring sometimes?

The most common cause is the operating system putting the app to sleep. On Android, make sure battery optimization is turned off for takeft (the app prompts for this on first launch). On iPhone, make sure notifications are allowed.

Is it free?

Yes. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no in-app purchases.

Can I delete my account?

Yes — email [email protected] and we'll remove your account within 30 days. See our privacy policy for details.

Do you support video calls?

Not in the first version. We wanted to nail audio calls first. Video may come later.
