What's in the app

Everything an elderly parent needs to stay in touch. Nothing they don't.

One-tap calls

The home screen is the contact list. Tap a face — you're calling. That's it.

Elder mode UI

Large readable text, big touch targets, no hidden menus or back buttons to get stuck on.

Locked-screen ringing

Incoming calls ring on the lock screen like a phone call, with answer and decline buttons.

Set up by family

The adult child creates and configures the account in person. The parent never types an email or password.

HD audio

Calls run on a real-time voice network. Crisp audio even on slow connections.

Cross-platform

iPhone and Android. Adult children can use whichever phone they already have.

What we deliberately left out

takeft is opinionated about simplicity. In our first release, there is:

  • No chat or text messaging
  • No video calls
  • No profile photos to upload
  • No group calls
  • No call recording
  • No subscription or in-app purchases

Less is more when the goal is "Grandma calls me without help."
